It is no secret that the South African Football Association are on the lookout for a new coach to step in when Gordon Igesund’s contract expires next month, and already a number of names have been bandied about – Carlos Queiroz, Herve Renard and Shakes Mashaba amongst others.

But it is understood that SAFA have a preference for the Nigerian, who has confirmed the demand for his services is high.

“Six countries are calling on me, so Nigeria will not be the last country for me to coach,” he said.

Keshi’s contract expires this year, but despite the success he has enjoyed, there have been no moves by the NFF to renew his contract, suggesting that he will be allowed go leave at the end of the World Cup.
