In this weekend's games Africans scored some crucial goals.

Emmanuel Adebayor netted the only goal as Arsenal struggled to beat Wigan. However Emmanuel Eboue dominated the headlines after this game, brought on as a substitute and subsequently replaced having been booed throughout an erratic performance that included tackling team-mate Adebayor and passing to a Wigan player.

Stoke City had a Malian and a Senegalese to thank for their point at Newcastle, Mamady Sidibe and Amady Faye cancelling out Owens brace, Faye's goal coming dramatically in the final minute.

Mwaruwari Benjani was the only other African scorer in this weekends games, the Zimbabwean striker opening the scoring in Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Fulham.

Surprisingly, no scorers in the Championship this week.
