On June 21 1994, Nigeria's Super Eagles played its first ever match in a FIFA World Cup, against Bulgaria in the United States. Nigeria's most prolific goal scorer, Rashidi Yekini, fittingly scored the country's first ever World Cup goal, in a 3-0 trouncing of the Eastern Europeans.

To celebrate this day, and as a tribute to the departed Rashidi Yekini, we are planning a series of events. This date coincides with the day of Nigeria's second game in Brazil during the World Cup, against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Cuiaba.

We want you to join us by telling us - where were you on the night of 21 June 1994 and what your memories are of the Yekini goal, his iconic celebration and your emotions that moment.

We are collating these memoirs to be displayed in specific locations in São Paolo, in Cuiaba Stadium as well as in selected locations in London, Lagos and Abuja.

There are already some comments from high ranking people across the world. Join them in these memoirs. Be a part of celebration of one of Nigeria's most loyal football servants.

There is a prize in it for the best entries, and every entry you send will seek support for the family Yekini left behind.
