Ibrahim Salah scored in the 35th minute to give Sudan an advantage over Rwanda in either team's second Group C game at the ongoing CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya.
Salah punished a mistake by the Rwandan defense and put the ball to the top right corner of the goal as custodian Jean Luc Ndayishimiye conceded his second goal of the tournament due to lapses in the defense. Rwanda lost 1-0 to Sudan who registered their second win at this year's edition of the annual tournament becoming the first team to book a place in the quarterfinals.
Rwanda's chances of moving to the quarterfinals greatly rely on other teams performances and also whether the Amavubi can score three or four goals or even more against Eritrea in their last group encounter.
Where these goals will emerge is already a worry for not only the fans and football enthusiasts but the technical bench as well. The Amavubi have scored only one goal in 90 minutes since June this year and have conceded seven goals. Now that is a worrying statistic for any tactician and Nshimiyimana will be hoping Rwanda scores goals against Eritrea.
