Money is not hindering me from getting a club……………..Ghanaian Captain, Appiah says E-mail
Written by Sylvester Awenlimobor

Captain of the Ghanaian Senior National team, Black Stars, Stephen Appiah has stated that his inability to secure a club side now is not due to reports from several media outfits that his asking price is too expensive.

There had been reports in the media that the former Juventus of Italy midfielder was not accepted by Portsmouth FC of London because of the high price tag he was wearing, and the same was also reported of his talks with Blackburn Rovers.

In an interview with soccernet.com, Appiah stated that he was still in talks with several club sides but pointed out that reports of high financial demands as barrier to his getting a club was totally false.

"We are still talking to the clubs involved, but the reports that I have high financial demands are not true at all," Appiah told the website.

"The deals from all the clubs are reasonable, but the most important thing is that I must consider many factors before I make my choice.

"I have been through a lot over the past one year so when I make a decision, I must make sure it is the right decision and that takes time." he added.

"I shouldn't be in a rush to sign deals. I must look at the offers with a critical eye because when I sign for a club I want to stay there for long and build a relationship with the club.

"Money is not everything. Happiness is important for me. I also want to return to action soon." Appiah recently returned to the Ghanaian Senior National team in a 2010 World Cup/Nations Cup qualifying game against Libya in Tripoli which the Black Stars lost 1-0
